A Guide to Fashion’s Finest: Comparing Top Brands

Fashion is what you wear every day, how you choose to wear and present yourself. Fashion is not  about just getting decked up nicely for a particular event or place. There are countless brands  worldwide doing their best to help you style yourself the best. But not all of them are always up to  mark in terms of comfort or quality. Here are some of the top brands in the world that justify the  word ‘fashion’ in its true sense.

1. Dior

Dior is a European multinational luxury fashion brand chaired by French businessman Bernard  Arnault who heads the other fashion giant LVMH. The house of Christian Dior was founded on 16th  December 1947 in Paris. The brand was founded on the ideals of feminine beauty. Slowly, it  revolutionized the women’s fashion industry. Dior is the famous fashion brand name we hear in  American movies and songs, and we see artists celebrating themselves in Dior statements.

From bags, small leather goods, accessories, ready-to-wear, shoes,  watches, fashion jewelry, makeup, and skincare to fragrance and beauty, Dior has got you covered. It  also has fine wine and spirits group producing various wines and other spirits.

Dior’s mission is to leave beauty as a legacy and be fully committed to reducing our carbon emissions  by 46% by 2030, gathering efforts in favor of biodiversity.

With elegance, timeless fashion, and richness in history, the brand remained at the top of fashion’s  hierarchy

2. Louis Vuitton

Another brand that needs no introduction is the internally famed Louis Vuitton. Louis Vuitton is a  French luxury fashion house and company established in 1854 by Louis Vuitton. It’s famed for being  one of the most recognized luxury brands in the world for its cutting-edge fashion.

LVMH is the division of Louis Vuitton, and it built its first state-of-the-art fragrance factory in 2016 to  develop perfumes. The brand is known for its high-end leather goods, iconic monogram handbags,  legendary steamer trunks, sublime watches, and jewelry. The majority of these are adorned with the  LV monogram.

The luxury brand says it recycles 93% of its events and window materials, 52% of its raw materials  are certified sustainable, 33% of all the product lines incorporate an eco-design process, and 69% of  its energy is used for workshops and logistics sites in renewables. The brand aims to achieve a 55%  reduction in greenhouse gas emissions to encourage circular creativity and responsible sourcing.

3. Gucci

This fashion house is instantly recognizable as the main subject of the 2021 film House of Gucci, starring Adam Driver and Lady Gaga. Gucci is an Italian luxury fashion brand founded in 1921 by  Guccio Gucci, making it one of the oldest Italian fashion brands in operation today.  Designer Alessandro Michele rejuvenated  the brand with a new look and turned the brand into the printed, sequined, oversized glass-loving  vision we see today. Gucci added a children’s fashion line in 2010 to its collection of goods. Gucci  relaunched its first unisex fragrance Memoire d’Une Odeur and its makeup line Gucci Beauty in 2019. From ‘Dionysus’ bags and ‘Horsebit’ loafers to exquisite hand-finished dresses, these collections are  some of the most sought-after Gucci statements. Starting from its 2022 collections, the company became entirely fur-free and has promised to work  with the vision of reducing its environmental impact, including greenhouse gas emissions, by 2025.

Gucci is known for its handbags, ready-to-wear, footwear, silk goods, premium knitwear,  accessories, home decoration, fragrance, and cosmetics.

4. Prada

Prada has been an influential force in the fashion industry for over 100 years. Mario Prada formed  the house of Prada in 1913. The brand initially sold accessories, trunks, steamers, and other leather  products. In 1919, the brand received public recognition when they were awarded the honored title  of Official Supplier of the Italian Royal House. That’s how Prada got the logo that we see today. The  distinct triangle of the Prada logo shows the House of Savoy coat of arms which is an ode to the  Italian aristocracy.

Mario Prada believed that women should only work at home and have no place in the workplace.  But when it was the time to pass the line of business to his successor, his son had no interest in  carrying on the business. Fortunately, the business was passed on to his daughter Luisa Prada who  contributed to the brand for nearly 20 years, turning into its greatness today. Later, Miuccia Prada  joined the family business in the 1970s and began designing luxury handbags and luggage.

For over 100 years, Prada has designed and sold beautifully crafted and creative handbags, clothes,  watches, shoes, and accessories for men, women, and now children. Prada’s sustainability target is  to eliminate greenhouse gas emissions, micro-fiber plastic pollution, and single-use plastic by 2030.
